The things I do...

What is a real job?

Sometimes I ask myself if I have a real job...?

If I can keep asking myself this question I think I will be ok.

I am not living the high life as of yet, and don't have a health plan or benefits to speak of. But, I don't have to wear a suit and that makes me happy.

What am I doing today... Looking for a vintage car with flames on the hood for an upcoming photo shoot. This is what I have come up with so far. A flamed out '46 Chevy all stock, 350 big block, completely finished ex'd out frame with all tethered lines. I have no idea what that means, but Dennis, the owner, seemed pretty keen on the subject.

Slang Flashcards

During Christmas time I ran across a gag gift, a box slang word flashcards. The words are illustrated and used in sentences which are hilarious.

The are two examples on the box. The first one is Whanksta: a white gangster, more less, and the illustration is two guys in fishing garb, one guy is holding a fish and the other is saying "get your hook out of my fishes mouth you whanksta!"

The other illustration is for the word grill: meaning face, more less, and the illustration is two people, one giving CPR to the other saying "hold on, i'm going to be up in your grill for a moment"

I can't help but laugh... if i ever find these things on sale I'm definitely going to buy. For now, I'm going to have to enjoy the examples they have on their website...www.knockknock.biz.

Here are a few examples, I hope you like them as much a I do.

A stop at Holy Hill

There is no better view of southeastern Wisconsin than on top of Holy Hill. A very cool trip not too far from Cream City... a great place to spend an afternoon. I can't wait until it gets warmer and they open the bell tower.

These pics were taken with Stevi's Sony DSC-s40, an awesome compact camera for only a hundred shakes.

it's St. Paddy's Day!

What better thing to do on St Paddy's Day than take photos in the ThirdWard...

This little photo outing would have lasted longer if I would have put the battery I charged in my bag. Oh well, the result is satisfactory.

I call it; SKY & SYMMETRY

ice revised

I have revised the Ice movie, cut it down and added a new sound with some quiet off-beat techno... i think i like it a little better.

Ice Adventure

One of the only positive points about living in a northern state is winter lingers, and lingers, and lingers. It is the middle of March and we can still play in the cold.

Enjoy the ice adventure Stevi and I had at Red Arrow park in the heart of downtown CreamCity.

Moby - Porcelain Do i think this song is cliche, yes. Do I ever get tired of the beat, no.

when tony was 8

I don't know if this is a real commercial. if not, it should be...I can't stop laughing! Thanks Tony, for sending this my way

someday...

Someday I hope to be the kind of photographer Jeremy Cowart is. I love his style, I'm not sure why, but it is what I strive for in my photos. Not to mention his ability as a designer/graphic artist... very hip. I came across this site through several Christian artists I like, and he did their photography.

Check out his website, link here ->www.JeremyCowart.com. One of the most impressive and simple sites I have come across.

Don't forget to check out the audio section on the left... I now have some new artists to look for.

Favorite bookmarks

And then there were two....

Despite recent developments in new digital technology, I had to opt for the reliable workhorse.

A few weeks ago, at Tricia Williams wedding to Steven Parks (Congratulations!), I took an unfortunate fall. Walking backwards and shooting at the same time has always been one of my strong suits until now.

Call it disillusionment from the burnished sparklers or mere uncoordinated lumpishness, when a small child the size of a large watermelon stepped behind me I couldn't help but take a fall. All would have been well if I wasn't sporting two fancy camera's (one of my own and one on loan). Luckily my elbows, which are still in tact, took the brunt of the fall. However, two lens hoods, cosmetic damage, emotional scarring and the constant lingering thought of knowing my camera basically dropped four feet still rings true in my head. All seems to be in good working condition... for now.

With all of that said I decided to go with what I know best in this high-tech world, another NikonD1X. Until just a few days ago I only had one of these bad boys. Then I ran across a deal I couldn't refuse, and took a risk to invest some more money into an ever obsolete industry. Yes, it is old. Yes, it doesn't have quite as high resolution as newer cameras. But, it has stood the test of time, has a lot of bang for the buck if you can find a trusty used one. And probably the best feature of all, changing to black and white on the fly. "I have two guns, one for each of ya'", ... one of my all time favorite quotes. If you can name it, I might write you into my will for a 2.5lb piece of metal and optics.
